Agamed takes steps to secure water supply

In view of the state of alert caused by the spread of Covid-19 and aware of the concern that what affects a basic good such as water can generate among the population, Agamed wishes to state that the supply will be guaranteed with the same guarantees as until now.

The quality and safety of drinking water is guaranteed at all times. The current treatment processes and control parameters for drinking water guarantee the sanitary quality, which is not affected by the current situation. Additionally, hand washing with soap and water is one of the main preventive measures to avoid contamination.

Agamed, in coordination with the competent local, regional and national authorities and in accordance with their guidelines, has implemented a series of preventive measures aimed at protecting the health safety of all its staff, as well as ensuring the normal operation of the facilities in which it operates, whether they are treatment, drinking water or supply plants.

Agamed has also taken the necessary decisions to make available, in time, the necessary and sufficient material to ensure the quality of supply with all the guarantees that are usually applied.

For the sake of accuracy and transparency, and bearing in mind that there are certain operations which require face-to-face assistance, Agamed wishes to make public the following decisions adopted:

  • Creation of independent operational work teams in the various water treatment plants, given that the characteristics of the activity require face-to-face work which makes teleworking impossible.
  • These operational work teams will operate independently, in order to avoid any risk of contagion and, if it is detected in any of them, to have to establish a quarantine period.
  • The design of this operation also implies the provision of a third team of retainers, to guarantee the normalisation of the water supply work.
  • The segregation of these teams also implies the suppression of any direct or indirect contact, both in facilities and changing rooms.
  • On the other hand, personal hygiene measures are being optimised and made more extreme.
  • Given the characteristics of the daily activity of the integral water cycle, the work instructions to the contractor companies are basically provided by telephone or telematic means, without being of a face-to-face nature.
  • In the same way, to guarantee the sterility of the operations, all visits to the facilities have been cancelled, except for essential activities such as the transport of materials necessary to ensure the healthiness of the water and the normal operation of these facilities.
  • In view of the risks of possible shortages of products or components due to the global nature of this crisis, Agamed has proceeded, with the collaboration of the supply companies, to make a supply of the material necessary to ensure continuity of supply over the coming months with the usual guarantees up to the present.

Agamed is in constant communication with the health authorities in view of the current situation and has applied the prevention protocols dictated by the authorities among its staff in all its facilities. The preventive measures (health, teleworking, rotating shifts, ...) are aimed at protecting the health of the company's workers.

At all times, the company has shared with the staff detailed information on both the situation in the company and the environment. In the same way, with the aim of protecting the health of the staff, that of its clients and guaranteeing the continuity of the service with alternative means, Agamed reminds that it has at its disposal the channels of non-presential attention where it can carry out all its management.
